Located at the heart of Kentucky’s Bluegrass Region, Lexington is known as the horse capital of the world. Meanwhile, Lexington enjoys a unique garden city identity compared with urbanized and industrialized neighbors.. Flying over the city, it looks like a masterpiece of art decorated by various green pearls. Correspondingly, the scenic road system can be seen a silver string connecting these pearls to a pearl necklace. A host of historic, scenic, quaint, exciting and pastoral places are worthy a round of adventure. However, with the city’s developing trend, a conflict between necessary urban sprawl and the identity of garden city evolved severe and headachy. The purpose of this site is to give an introduction of city's history, and analyze various phenomenons of current trends, spatial interaction, regional interaction, economic, socio-ecnomic, land, transportation in the city from its inception to the present.
